The Tai Chi for Life and Health logo consists of the black and white circular Tai Chi symbol, representing the Chinese concepts of relativity and duality,

and the tuatara, the symbol of longevity.
The tuatara lives up to 100 years of age, is unique to New Zealand, and has survived as a species for more than 200 million years.

2025 Term Dates

Classes run during the public-school terms as follows:

TERM 1:
Wednesday, 12th February to Thursday, 10th April
(9-week term due to later start after Waitangi Day break)
TERM 2:
Wednesday, 30th April to Thursday, 26th June
(9-week term due to shorter public-school term)
TERM 3:
Wednesday, 23rd July to Thursday, 18th September
(9-week term due to extended 3-week break at end of Term 2)
TERM 4:
Wednesday, 8th October to Thursday, 4 December
(9-week term)

2025 Public Classes

WEDNESDAY MORNING (PORIRUA CBD)
Continuing Tai Chi:
9:30am to 10:10am
Advanced Tai Chi:
10:20am to 11:00am

THURSDAY MORNING (WAIKANAE MEMORIAL HALL)
Continuing Tai Chi:
9:30am to 10:10am
Advanced Tai Chi:
10:20am to 11:00am

THURSDAY AFTERNOON (SUMMERSET AT THE LANDING, KENEPURU)
Essential Tai Chi:
2:30pm to 3:30pm

2025 Venues

Wednesday morning classes are held in Studio 4 at SWPT Dance Studio in Hartham Place North, Porirua opposite the North Entrance to North City Plaza.

 

Thursday morning classes are held in the Small Hall at the back of the Waikanae War Memorial Hall.

 

Thursday afternoon classes are held in the Activities Room at Summerset on the Landing and are only available to residents and their visitors.
